We want the world
to know Jesus

Andrea and David Campanale

Andrea and David Campanale are CMS mission partners in training, living and working in Kingston in London. Their aim is to make Christianity relevant to people in the UK today - for David it is through politics and for Andrea, spirituality and the arts.

Andrea is connected to an organisation called Sacred Space, using the creative arts to dialogue with people about spirituality. She also works with Oxygen, Kingston Youth for Christ, running arts workshops for youth and community groups.

In 2004, David and Andrea felt called by God to pray for people at Kingston’s Green Fair. Overwhelmed by the response, they built a team of volunteers across the churches in Kingston and trained them in outreach, prophetic evangelism and dream interpretation. As this event was only once a year, they began to try new ways to connect with these spiritual seekers at others points in the year. Sacred Space was born out of this experimentation.

Working with local churches and Christian agencies in the borough, Andrea has put on a number of exhibitions and events exploring themes such as peace, dreams and identity.

In 2009, she gave up her paid job to work with Oxygen, Kingston Youth for Christ.

David is seeking greater support in the political sphere in order to make Christianity more relevant, as well as making the most of a likely change in the voting system.

With the help of CMS, Andrea and David would like to continue exploring creative ways of making the gospel relevant to people in the UK in the 21st century.

They are passionate about Christian community that is authentic, dynamic and genuinely inclusive in an environment which has a reputation for affluence and self sufficiency, yet where many are struggling financially and emotionally to cope with the demands of our modern existence. They want to build on the good relationships they have with other Christians, but bring a fresh take on God’s desire to be intimately and positively involved with his creation.

They have two sons, Daniel and Nathan.
