Kailean and Kim Khongsai
Kailean and Kim Khongsai are CMS mission partners in Britain, working for Christian environmental charity A Rocha.
Kailean was born and brought up on the Indo-Myanmar border in a Christian family. He studied Life Science and completed a Master’s degree in Ecology and the Environment.
He had worked for the Environmental Rural Development Society, India for a couple of years. He then studied for an MSc-Waste Management course at Glasgow Caledonian University, and then worked as a relief worker for the organisation Community Lifestyles in Glasgow.
Kim also grew up in a Christian family. She holds a bachelor degree in Bio-Science and Education from Manipur University.
She served as a Sunday school teacher amongst the children in a Presbyterian church and at the same time in a mission school, working as a primary teacher in Manipur.
Along with Kailean, she then volunteered for Wellington Church Glasgow Environmental Project (BBC-Breathing Place) until recently.
Their real passion is the belief that the world is God’s creation and his property, and taking good care of this world is a Christian obligation.
They felt that the Lord was importing a vision for their lives, to take up the responsibility of creation stewardship.
They officially joined A Rocha on 15th April 2009. Kailean serves as Faith-Based Community Worker and Kim works as Centre Manager and as an environmental education assistant for A Rocha.
With A Rocha, they will be spreading awareness of creation theology and building the bridges of understanding between faiths on all issues where there is common ground, encouraging and promoting environmental projects within all faith groups in Southall, Hayes and other areas further afield.
