Adelante Conference

A round-up from the CMS Adelante (Moving forward) conference held earlier this year. It is good to hear positive comments relating to the integration of SAMS with CMS and of the many reunions among folk who previously supported SAMS.

• Give thanks that the SAMS-CMS integration process is proceeding well.
• Pray that the church in Latin America will indeed “move forward” under the leadership of Bishop Tito Zavala as guided by God.

Pat Blanchard

Pat Blanchard has been serving the Lord as a mission partner in Peru for some 11 years, making use of her practical skills to the full in the project Shalom, for children with disabilities.

Pray for:

• Shalom, while Pat is in the UK for six months
• opportunities for the young people in Shalom to have some work experience
• the newly-elected administration in Peru under Ollanta Humala

Avril Betts Brown

Andrew and Avril Betts Brown are trustees of the “Life in abundance” Trust – a UK charity set up specifically to provide facilities for mission partner Jill Ball’s work amongst special needs children and those living in poverty in Ecuador. About 18 months ago Avril and Andrew felt the need to go to Ecuador for a first-hand experience. Pray for:

• Jill’s work with special needs children
• Carolyn and her family, and that the cycle of the inevitability of life on the rubbish dump can be broken
• Andrew and Avril in their work with the “Life in Abundance” Trust

Sue Woodcock

Sue Woodcock has been pastor of the Església de Crist, in Sabadell, north-east Spain, since 1999. Last summer Sue spent some time in hospital and received the rather surprising diagnosis that she had pancreatic cancer having had no indications that she had anything that serious wrong with her.

• Give thanks that Sue has a peace that God IS in control
• Give thanks also for the tremendous support Sue has been given by her church congregation
• Pray that the treatment will be effective in removing the cancerous cells
• Pray that God will glorify himself through this treatment process
