Beryl Baker, serving in ParaguayNurse Beryl offers the only hope of medical treatment to around 18,000 Indians in the Paraguayan Chaco. She has dedicated nearly 30 years of her life to this area and describes herself as ‘orderly, gynaecologist, midwife and dentist’, treating anything from TB to gunshot wounds and snakebite. The government provides some medicines but offers little else in the way of support. Beryl has trained Indian health promoters to meet some basic community health needs. |

Pancha and Terry Barratt, serving in United KingdomThe couple are now based back in the UK, where Terry is fulfilling his responsibilities as International Director of SEAN, the Theological Training by Extension programme initiated by his father. Terry grew up in a missionary family in Chile, Argentina and Paraguay. Until early 2007 he was pastor of San Pedro church in Viña del Mar, Chile, then he and Pancha ministered to the leaders of the indigenous Pehuenche congregations of the Queuco Valley in the south. |

Charles and Lynn Barr Johnston, serving in Northern ArgentinaCharles and Lynn worked for many years in the Northern Argentine Chaco (plus a period in Asunción, Paraguay) planting churches among the Spanish-speaking settler communities and training leaders for them. Every church leader in that area has been prepared for the task by this couple. They now live in Salta, Northern Argentina, where Charles continues to lead Bible study groups. They attend ‘San Andres” congregation in the centre of Salta. |

Kathryn and Stuart Broughton, serving in BrazilStuart and Kathryn have globetrotted ever since they went to Paraguay in 1968 and then as pioneer SAMS missionaries to Brazil in 1971. For the last few years they have been serving Brazilian and Portuguese nationals now living in Sydney, Australia but moved back to Brazil to Rio de Janeiro in March to spend seven months serving at Christ Church Rio as a locum. |

Mike and Silvia Browne , serving in Argentina Since the mid-90s he worked with a team of three native-speakers on the translation of the New Testament into the Toba language. The work was completed in 2009 and was presented to the Toba communities in August 2010.Mike and Silvia live in Salta with their sons Kevin and Chris, and Mike continues to visit the Tobas, and to prepare materials to help them read their new translation. Alison and Chris Hawksbee, serving in ParaguayChris was born and raised in the Paraguayan Chaco where his parents were missionaries. Chris and Alison served God for a number of years in this area, followed by a period in Northern Argentina. Back in Paraguay, Chris now works with the Indian churches and communities, helping them draw up their own projects, offering technical support, notably in commercialisation of their honey and agricultural produce, and giving Christian encouragement. Alison teaches at the Asunción Christian Academy. Their younger son, Ben, is with them in Asuncion, while Samuel and Hannah are in the UK.

Juan Carlos and Penny Marcés, serving in PeruJuan Carlos and his English wife Penny lead the church of Jesús el Salvador in the Lima ‘young town’ of Villa el Salvador, with Juan Carlos also much involved in the Alpha movement in Peru. Parish activities include Alpha, Bible studies, the Lion of Judah youth group, Ichthus teenagers’ group and the Rainbow Holiday Club for children. An important link with the local state school gives Juan Carlos and a number of members the opportunity to teach courses in Christian Values, dealing with moral issues such as drugs, abortion and AIDS. |

Ian and Polly Montgomery, serving in PeruCanon Ian and Polly Montgomery are retired following over thirty-five years in the Church of England and the American Church. They now serve in the Anglican Diocese of Peru with SAMS-USA as missionaries. Ian is responsible for clergy and Church development. He is also directing Amigos del Peru amigosdelperu.wordpress.com which is the US registered charity for raising funds for the diocese and its ministry. Di and Tomio Tamaki, serving in Brazil and JapanDi went to Brazil in 1980 as a SAMS missionary and met her husband Tomio there. She now lives in Livramento in southern Brazil, but makes a daily crossing over the border to Uruguay where she teaches English. She is a Catechist at the Anglican church and involved in many ministries including women’s groups, discipleship groups and a monthly meeting for women and young children. Tomio lives and works in Chiba, Japan, and visits when possible. |

David and Sue Weller, serving in BrazilDavid is from Zimbabwe, Sue from East Yorkshire and Rachel was born in Lichfield. David is Chaplain to Christ Church, Rio de Janeiro a Church that serves the English speaking community of Rio and beyond. Sue is also ordained and participates fully in the ministry to a very varied and international congregation. Much of the ministry involves enabling and growing Church members whose jobs take them from Brazil to many parts of the world. Rio de Janeiro is one of the world’s most exciting cities, poverty and riches live side by side, violence is an issue and the natural beauty takes your breath away. |
