Sharing Jesus, Changing Lives
Make Believe

Becoming who you are called to be

Make Believe is an innovative course designed to help you realise your potential and develop your gifts in the light of God’s call on your life.

You will become part of a unique learning community as you work through three carefully crafted interactive modules over eight weekends.

You are “wonderfully made” and Make Believe wants to help you realise just how wonderfully – and the purpose that God has for you.

The modules

A module exploring your world-view

Over three weekends, you, as part of the learning community, will explore and identify the conscious and unconscious influences and motivations that have created the lens through which you view the world.

The aim is to enable each participant to understand, take responsibility for, and shape their world-view to best reflect their Christian values. The outcome is a deeper understanding and fuller expression of living out their Christian values at work, in church, at home and in their neighbourhoods.

A module to bring to maturity your personal and social development

Again, over three weekends, this module explores who each participant is, what each aspires to become and why.

It does this within the context of who God designed and desires us to be, corporately and generally, but also specifically and personally.

The module hinges on the ‘Shalom Compass’, which builds a framework for right living towards God, self, our neighbour and creation.

Using the Ignation Circles and exploring the heart of commitment and contribution, each participant works to develop his or her own personal mission statement. This seeks to encapsulate the trainee’s destiny and purpose while enabling them to bring to fruition their principal contribution at work, at home and in their local communities.

A module exploring your vocation

Over the last two weekends, the participant seeks to use the corner-stone of their mission statement as a building-block for flourishing in their profession or work.

Each builds a VMaP − Vision, Mission and Purpose – for the activity and ethos that takes up the majority of their time each week, that of the workplace.

This VMaP mirrors each trainee’s calling and world-view, honours their mission statement and realises their ‘mission capital’ – the potential, resources, personal contribution and gift of time they can offer building up the whole.

For some, this process entails a period of serious reflection on how to target their energies to promoting God's call in the work environment.

For others, it can lead to a complete re-evaluation of their whole working context.

How will Make Believe help you turn your aspirations into action? There's only one way to find out.
