Mission Asia
A consultation for mission partners and church leaders working in Asia and with Asian diaspora

Wednesday 9 –
Thursday 10 April 2008

In partnership with OMF International and CMS

At Redcliffe College, Gloucester

There are many questions surrounding the challenges and opportunities presented by the growing indigenous Asian missionary movement. This two day consultation at Redcliffe College aims to help UK mission agencies and church leaders explore some of them.
  • How do we build meaningful and supportive partnerships with missionaries from Asia?
  • Can we help them benefit from the history and expertise of mission from the West?
  • And learn to listen to them and their insights?
The consultation will allow time for sharing stories, ideas and examples of best practice and the opportunity to discuss and reflect upon ways forward.

The programme
During the two days you will:
  • Learn more about mission in and from China with Dr Patrick Fung, General Director, OMF International.
  • Explore challenges in mission from the contexts of South Asia, East Asia and the Muslim World and discuss how to respond.
  • Discuss practical models of best practice and possible ways forward. Meet and share with others who are working with Asians in Asia and around the world.
If you are unable to attend the full consultation, why not consider coming along to the 2008 Redcliffe Lecture in World Christianity with Dr Patrick Fung, General Director OMF International on Wednesday 9th April at 7pm. Dr Fung will be speaking about 'China and Beyond: Trends, Challenges and Mission Movements'.
