Teenager's faith transforms whole family

Dramatic turnaround: Valentina is baptised

Nine members of one family have embraced the gospel, after seeing the difference it made for a teenage girl.

Valentina, aged 15, had been described as “rebellious” by people who knew her, but when friends invited her to the youth group led by Ary and Danny Morrison, CMS Latin partners in Chile, she found peace and love in Jesus.

Since then, her two younger brothers, her mother, two aunts, a cousin and her grandmother have all given their lives to Jesus and Valentina spends her time praying for others and sharing her faith on the streets through drama.

Experiencing the reality of the Spirit

This year the Morrisons' church, La Resurreccion, became the first Anglican church in the region to run the Alpha Course.

"Despite obstacles and opposition the course is proving to be a great blessing from the Lord, as we are discovering how much we need to call upon the Spirit in our lives," says Danny.

"The highlight so far of this was the Holy Spirit away day, where people who had been Christian for many years experienced the reality and the power of the Spirit of God for the first time."

The Morrisons also report a rapid increase in numbers at the youth group in the last three months, with many giving their lives to Christ.
