"Seriously interested in starting something" - ReSource relaunches(Image: ReSource video)
ReSource is an invaluable training course for people who want to pioneer mission in contemporary culture
If you’re someone with a vision for mission in today’s emerging culture, then the ReSource course could be for you.
Formerly focusing just on church planting, the course is broadening its focus to include people who are part of missional communities, pioneer projects or new expressions of church.
CMS is an enthusiastic partner in the course because it offers people the insights of cross-cultural mission as well as providing a healthy space for encouragement and reflection on good practice.
One former participant, Giles Holloway, describes how the course changed him:
“I feel like if God gives me a vision now I've got the basic strategy tools as well as relationships with wise old heads to go for it.
"But more importantly the knowledge that if I don't do it then probably no one in the institutional churches will.”
CMS’s Jonny Baker explains why ReSource is such an important course and why CMS is a partner:
“To join with 30 or so other people who are involved in leading mission projects or planting churches and share stories and learning is invaluable.
“We’ve seen people gain so much encouragement from sharing the journey with others. Then having a chance to have some teaching and learn some insights through the lens of cross cultural mission to apply in their own situations, and to reflect on their practice is so helpful.
“I am a big fan of the course.”
The course has four weekends over a year, looking at themes like mission and culture, mission and worship, and transformation. CMS is a key partner, providing administrative support as well as course input.
ReSource’s new mission focus is reflected in the new website name:
www.resourcemission.comHere’s Kate from ReSource with more about this year’s course:
“This year sees the addition of some new weekends, visiting new places and exploring new themes. Where we have previously run a similar syllabus year to year, we now plan to expand the number of topics covered by varying the weekends on offer each year. If you are drawn to a specific theme, make the most of the weekend while it is running.
“The weekends are designed as a whole course and we recommend signing up for the whole year. This approach means you can go on a longer learning journey, explore the ideas further and be accompanied by familiar faces.
“We appreciate that not everyone can commit to a whole year so each weekend is also available as a stand-alone event focused on a specific theme.”
There is an online application process, and a chance to apply for a bursary towards the cost of the course if money is tight.
