The momentum of prayer for children at risk is increasing, says CMS mission partner Isobel Booth-Clibborn, regional coordinator for Viva Africa

Thanks to people like you, every year the momentum of prayer for children at risk is increasing and we are excited to inform you that prayer resources for this year’s World Weekend of Prayer for Children at Risk are now available for download from
www.viva.org/pray.
The prayer booklet for 2009 is based on John 10:10 and the ABUNDANT life that Jesus came to bring, it gives a snapshot of the sort of work being done around the world by those who love and follow Jesus.
There is much to celebrate yet at the same time we need to continue and increase our heartfelt prayers on behalf of children at risk as their numbers continue to escalate particularly in the light of current world affairs.
From last years feedback we know that 58 per cent of participants were under the age of 18 therefore the booklet has been designed to be more user-friendly with children and youth.
If you would like to order hard copies, please contact us with your name and address and we will do our best to send them in time: £5 for 10 booklets plus postage and packaging.
'From the lips of children and infants you have ordained praise because of your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger.' Psalm 8:2
Here are some ideas for getting involved:
- Host a PRAISE & PRAYER PARTY which encourages child and youth involvement
- Focus a church service on praying for Children at Risk
- Set up a prayer room for people to come freely over the weekend
- Involve children by using the creative ideas in the booklet
- Use the prayer booklet as part of a small group meeting
- Use the power point presentations or show the ‘You Tube’ clip from our new website (online from April).
- Ask a mission or prayer group to organise some of the above!
- Hold a prayer breakfast
Please remember that we love to hear about your prayer events and to receive stories of answered prayers. Please email us and tell us about your plans and after the event fill in the online feedback form. We have been so encouraged by answers to prayers and this helps encourage others through your testimonies.
