The CMS Timothy programme
Raising up local people in mission to share Jesus and change lives |
| Please consider giving a gift today so those God has called to make Jesus known can do so. People including Reena and Suman Khadgi in Nepal, Manasseh Tuyizere in Rwanda, Dolly and Isaac Jeyakumar in India – and many others.
Like the New Testament Timothy, God has called them to build and serve his church. However, many are from communities that struggle just to put food on the table.
This means their own churches cannot meet all their simple living costs, even though this can be as little as £47 a week. |
From witchdoctors to Jesus-followers
Talented and committed:
Suman and Reena
Our Timothy mission partners Reena and Suman Khadgi in Nepal work with the National Mission Commission.
For them it is like the days of Acts as they confront superstition in the name of Christ.
Recently a woman witchdoctor came to them. Deuti (pictured top) had been seriously ill for many years and gone to a "more powerful" witchdoctor and spent money on physicians, all to no avail.
Says Suman, "We took three days to fast and pray for her. She was healed, accepted Jesus Christ and then threw away all her charms and spells."
It was a similar story for Sher, a male witchdoctor who after encountering Christ and being healed from illness is now becoming a local Christian leader.
