UK challenges
Southall, London…Standing in the fresh grass of Minet Country Park, listening to birdsong and children’s laughter, it’s hard to believe this 90-acre West London oasis once overflowed with burnt-out cars, abandoned refrigerators and fly-tipped waste. But the park’s history makes it a powerful picture of redemption and hope for the people of Southall and Hayes, says CMS mission partner Dave Bookless. Dave heads A Rocha UK, a Christian conservation organization that transforms communities by caring for creation. The Minet renovation began in 2001, with people from all faiths in the community pitching in. The project has given people a new relationship with creation that could be a stepping-stone to a relationship with the Creator.
Taking on a sponsored challenge like Hadrian's Wall or Ben Nevis will help raise funds to support people like Dave Bookless; people serving around the world to see all of creation restored into a loving relationship with God.
