Individual placements To get under the skin of another place and people you need to spend time there. A placement with CMS lets you spend between six months and two years immersed in another culture, working alongside local Christians. From Africa to Asia, Europe to the Middle East, even multicultural inner-city Britain, choose a location that sparks your interest or that you’d never have thought of visiting. Depending on your skills and interests, you may work in health care, teaching, project management, community development, the arts, church initiatives – or something completely different. Placements take you to a deeper level and give you time to build relationships. Pain and struggle is inevitable, but there will be shared joy too. Expect to ask questions of yourself and your faith as well as discover whole new facets of your relationship with God. You need to be over 21 to do a placement outside the UK but anyone over 18 can take on the challenge of a cross-cultural setting in the UK.
