Encounter mission teams
Live out your faith in practical, transforming ways and see what God can do when Christians from different cultures share in each other's lives.
Whether we realise it or not, for most of us our faith in Jesus has been shaped in part by our own particular culture. Encounter trips aim to help people shed that cultural baggage and discover how following Jesus is worked out in other cultures and communities.
While many short-term experiences seem to be mainly about 'doing something' for 'poor people', Encounter trips are primarily about immersing ourselves in another culture, connecting with Christian communities and taking part in grassroots ministry, recognising we have much to learn from others and letting these insights help shape our perspectives.
Your assumptions will be challenged and your worldview widened – in short you will discover a bigger Jesus.

With 200+ years of cross-cultural experience, CMS can help you prepare for your journey. We offer an annual leaders’ training day as well as briefing and debriefing.
