What is Share the Light?The essence of Share the Light is to enable members of your church to literally share light by giving a beautiful gift-candle to a friend.
As they do this, they promise to pray for that person over the next year and invite them to a candlelit Advent carol service at your church.
Church members grow closer – and they make a difference in your community that will last far beyond Christmas.
We have been greatly encouraged to hear stories of how people’s lives and communities have been changed through the committed prayers of God’s people.
FREE worship resourcesThe resource contains all the worship materials required for your Share the Light Advent carol service.
You will also find an order form to allow you to order gift-candles and candles for your Advent carol service (heavily discounted), plus a guide to “faith sharing for everyone” to help church members as they give away the candle.
A new feature this year is a series of readings and prayers to accompany the lighting of Advent candles each Sunday throughout the month of December.
These stories feature the next generation of indigenous church leaders around the world who are supported by the CMS Timothy Fund.
The next step Share the Light worship resources are free as are the votive candles you need for the candle-lit Advent carol service. And if you would like to use CMS presentation gift-candles, they are heavily discounted for participating churches. All CMS asks in return is that your church take up a collection for the Timothy Fund.
