Community fundraising events
Get busy for mission and have lots of fun along the way – organise a community fundraising event!
Ever wanted to put on a community event to raise funds for CMS but been short of ideas? You’ve come to the right place!
Put on a community event and you will be building community and raising awareness of CMS as well as vital funds for our work.
We are encouraging CMS supporters up and down the country to get stuck into organising local events that will help support our mission partners sharing Jesus on the front line all around the world.
We are teeming with ideas for fantastic events (see the A-Z of fundraising pdf): sing-a-thons, sponsored fasts, sports days, jail breaks, teddy bears’ picnics – the possibilities are endless!
Our team will help you every step of the way – from the planning stages (see the Guide to planning a fundraising event pdf) to publishing your stories and pictures when it’s all over.
For all sorts of advice on community fundraising events, and for any queries, email Hannah or phone on 01865 787521.
Thank you for considering organising a community event with CMS. Thank you for helping us to keep sharing Jesus and changing lives. |

Some ideas...
Hold a dinner4good
www.dinner4good.com/cms is a website that allows you to send out electronic invitations to a meal, offering your guests an opportunity to make a donation to CMS. On the night you can talk more about CMS if you would like to, or just enjoy a sociable evening with friends. If you don’t use the internet, you could always create your own invitations. Organise a quiz night
Invite friends, family and church members to a quiz evening. Compile questions in five to 10 categories, appoint a quiz master and provide a prize for the winning team. Charge each team an entry fee and provide refreshments on the night to raise a bit of extra cash. You could also take an offering on the night – motivate people to give by very briefly highlighting an aspect of our work and asking them to help you meet a specific fundraising target. |
